Munich / Stockholm, October 2026 — IDnow today announces that IDnow Trust Services AB has received certification from the Swedish supervisory authority PTS for two qualified trust services under eIDAS2 (Regulation (EU) 2024/1183): Qualified Preservation and Qualified Electronic Archiving. With this, IDnow Trust Services joins an exclusive group of pioneers on the EU Trusted List, among the very first Qualified Trust Service Providers in Europe to hold QArchiving certification under the new eIDAS2 framework – and the first QTSP to combine both of eIDAS2’s landmark new services, Qualified Electronic Archiving and Qualified Electronic Attestation of Attributes, under one roof.
QArchiving is one of the newest qualified trust services introduced by eIDAS2. Under Article 45i(2), electronic data and documents preserved by a qualified archiving service carry an EU-wide legal presumption of integrity and origin throughout the entire preservation period – a powerful evidentiary safeguard recognised across all 27 Member States. This shifts the burden of proof in audits, disputes, and litigation, and provides regulated organisations with a legally robust foundation for long-term record retention.
Closing the Loop: Europe’s First Fully Qualified End-to-End Trust Chain
This certification is not an isolated milestone – it is the final link in a complete, qualified trust chain that IDnow now uniquely brings to market. Combined with IDnow’s existing capabilities for identity verification, Qualified Electronic Attestation of Attributes, qualified signing and sealing, and QPreservation, QArchiving enables a fully qualified, AMLR-compliant end-to-end process:
- Identity verification and QEAA issuance – regulated digital onboarding
- Qualified signatures and seals – legally binding execution of documents
- Qualified Preservation – maintaining the long-term validity of signed records
- Qualified Electronic Archiving – legally presumed integrity and origin of archived data and documents for their full legal or contractual retention period
For banks, insurers, and other regulated entities facing retention obligations under AMLR (up to ten years for KYC records), DORA, MiFID II, and GDPR, IDnow now offers what no single platform has offered before: every step of the customer journey – from first identity check to long-term archival – executed under one qualified, legally coherent framework.
“Being among the first Qualified Trust Service Providers on the EU Trusted List for Qualified Electronic Archiving is a testament to the depth of our regulatory expertise and the robustness of our technical infrastructure. Qualified Electronic Archiving under eIDAS2 is a genuinely new category of trust service, and earning this certification from PTS confirms that IDnow Trust Services meets the highest standards the European framework demands. We are proud to offer our customers a service that carries the full legal weight of eIDAS2 – across all 27 Member States.”
Johannes Leser, CEO, IDnow Trust Services AB
“IDnow has always believed that identity verification is only the beginning. What truly matters is the integrity of the entire evidence chain – from the moment a customer is onboarded to the day their records are retrieved in a regulatory audit or legal proceeding, potentially decades later. With Qualified Electronic Archiving, we close that loop completely. We are delivering a fully qualified, AMLR-ready end-to-end process, and we are doing it as one of the first in Europe. This is what thought leadership looks like in practice.”
Philippe Morel, CEO, IDnow
