Who should complete the AMLR readiness check?
The assessment is designed for compliance, legal, risk, and technology leaders at organisations in scope under AMLR, including banks, payment institutions, fintechs, crypto asset service providers (CASPs), insurance companies, and investment firms.
How long does the assessment take?
Approximately 5 minutes. There are 15 questions across five compliance dimensions. Answers are multiple choice, and you can complete it in a single sitting.
What does the AMLR readiness check help us understand?
The assessment gives you a structured, scored view of your organisation’s readiness across the five pillars AMLR compliance depends on:
– Regulatory Awareness: do you know your obligations and deadlines?
– Identity Verification: are your current methods compliant with Article 22(6)?
– Trust Services: do you have a Qualified Trust Service Provider relationship in place?
– CDD & Audit Readiness: can you demonstrate continuous due diligence and produce a unified audit trail?
– Governance & Implementation: is there ownership, budget, and a timeline behind your compliance programme?
You’ll receive an overall readiness score, a dimension-by-dimension breakdown, and your Top 3 priority actions — each with implementation effort, urgency rating, expected business impact, and an indicative timeline.
What is AMLR and why does it matter?
The EU Anti-Money Laundering Regulation (AMLR) is a directly-applicable EU regulation that replaces the existing patchwork of national AML frameworks with a single, uniform rulebook across all 27 member states. It enters into force on 10 July 2027 with no grace period and no national transposition, meaning your obligations are live from that date regardless of local implementation timelines.
What are the three AMLR-compliant identity verification methods?
Under AMLR Article 22(6), non-face-to-face identity verification is restricted to three compliant methods: EUDI Wallet (EU Digital Identity Wallet), notified eID schemes at eIDAS Level of Assurance Substantial or High, and Qualified Trust Services (QES/QEAA). Any verification method that falls below Substantial assurance level loses compliance status from 10 July 2027. The assessment evaluates your readiness against all three.
How does IDnow help organisations become AMLR-compliant?
IDnow’s Trust Platform gives businesses one foundation for meeting AMLR requirements through one integration. That means no multi-vendor coordination, no gaps between systems, and a single audit trail across every customer identity touchpoint. IDnow Trust Services AB operates as a certified Qualified Trust Service Provider (QTSP), delivering QES and QEAA natively within the platform.
