Our Story.
IDnow’s journey began at a time when digital identity verification was still uncharted territory. In 2014, we launched VideoIdent, one of the first solutions to deliver secure, remote identity verification in compliance with German regulations, laying the foundation for a new era of digital trust.
From these early innovations, we expanded rapidly across Europe and introduced AI-powered AutoIdent, enabling scalable, automated verification to meet rising demand. Our growth accelerated with the opening of new offices across Europe, reflecting our commitment to local presence with global impact.
The 2020s marked a period of strategic transformation. We acquired identity Trust Management and Ariadnext, integrating their technologies and teams into a unified platform. This brought powerful capabilities like IDCheck.io and YRIS Digital Identity into our portfolio, further strengthening our position as a leader in digital identity.
In 2024, we celebrated our 10-year anniversary and took a major step forward with the certification of IDnow Trust Services AB as a Qualified Trust Service Provider in the EU. Today, backed by a strategic majority investment from Corsair Capital, we’re now more than a verification provider – we’re a digital trust platform, empowering businesses to navigate compliance, combat fraud, and build secure customer experiences at scale.

Our leadership team brings together a diverse group of professionals committed to driving our mission forward. With deep expertise and a passion for excellence, they guide our company towards continued success and innovation.
Philippe Morel is a strategic leader with more than 30 years of experience spanning financial services, regulated technology platforms and private equity-backed growth. Combining deep advisory expertise with hands-on executive leadership, he has a consistent track record of repositioning and scaling complex businesses through periods of significant change.
Philippe joined IDnow as CEO in July 2026, taking the helm as the company enters a new phase of growth following the launch of the IDnow Trust Platform — a unified platform designed to help regulated organisations move from one-time identity verification to continuous trust across the full customer lifecycle.
Most recently, Philippe served as CEO of Railsr, a payments and embedded finance platform, where he led strategic repositioning and commercial rebuilding before its merger with Equals Money. Prior to that, he was CEO of SETL, a blockchain-based financial market infrastructure provider, where he repositioned the business into payments and digital settlement, launched the Regulated Liability Network — tested in partnership with the New York Federal Reserve — and delivered tokenisation projects for tier-one financial institutions.
Before his executive career, Philippe spent many years at Boston Consulting Group, rising to Senior Partner and Managing Director. He led BCG’s Global Capital Markets practice and its Private Equity EMEA business, advising boards and CEOs of major financial institutions on strategy, transformation and growth across Europe, the US and Asia. Philippe holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a degree in Finance from HEC Paris.
Since IDnow’s formation in 2014, Armin has built the technology and regulatory operations of the company, driving it to become a vital identity verification service provider in some of the most highly regulated industries around the world.
When he originally had the idea for IDnow, the VideoIdent procedure was not yet approved by the German Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin). Armin worked at the forefront of making this possible and has pushed the company to new heights.
Armin is an experienced thought leader in the fields of technology and digital identities as well as European regulations. He is part of several working groups like ETSI, the FIDO Alliance, and W3C. Armin also consults with global and European digital identity organizations and national regulators within Europe in technology and innovation matters. Armin’s efforts have had great impacts on an industry-wide scale and have allowed many regulators to consider new methods for identification.
Before his IDnow journey, Armin also co-founded Amiando (Xing Events).
Andreas has over 20 years of international finance and leadership experience.
He brings a wealth of expertise in operational excellence, sustainable value creation, and building high-performing teams in both private equity and public market environments.
Prior to joining IDnow, Andreas worked at EY, PwC, and Schörghuber Group, before joining zooplus in 2010, where he advanced to CFO and drove pan-European growth.
Daniel Keller brings over two decades of experience at the intersection of product, technology, and business transformation.
His expertise includes successfully building, growing, and transforming global tech businesses at high pace and high scale. A pioneer in applying AI and Machine Learning to build intelligent, scalable platforms, Daniel brings a bold vision for accelerating innovation and building future-ready organizations.
Prior to joining IDnow, Daniel held senior leadership positions at Microsoft, Axel Springer, Scout24, Visable, and Onfido.
Phil Allen brings more than 25 years’ experience in digital identity, cybersecurity, and fraud prevention.
Known for his hands-on approach and deep market insight, Phil has built high-performing teams and driven customer success. As a frequent speaker at industry events and a published commentator on digital identity trends, Phil is passionate about evolving identity from a one-time check to a dynamic trust ecosystem — enabling continuous, contextual, and connected digital engagement.
Prior to joining IDnow, Phil held senior roles at Transmit Security, CA Technologies, and BMC Software, and led EMEA growth as VP at Ping Identity.
Johannes is a dynamic and results-driven leader with over 30 years of experience in the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry and multilingual production environments across North America, Europe, Asia, and Latin America. Recognized for delivering exceptional operational leadership, driving high-quality, face-to-face customer transactions, and fostering multicultural teams. Adept at building scalable processes, maximizing efficiency, and exceeding client expectations in fast-paced, global settings.
Johannes joined IDnow through its acquisition of identity Trust Management and has since implemented and maintained IDnow’s industry leading standards.
Prior to joining IDnow, Johannes co-founded identity Trust Management, demonstrating his entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to the identity management sector.
